Scott A. Ray & Mary McClenon family

Sometimes I get a little overwhelmed, but in a good way! Right now I have so much family history information that I've been given that I almost don't know where to start. As I mentioned in my first post, I started doing a bunch of research on ancestry.com. I put together much information, attaching US Census records, military draft registration cards, birth, death & marriage certificates to all the people I added to me tree. Then at one point I noticed that there was a robertmcclenon tree. All the information on his tree was noted to come from a book by Walter McClenon. Paul & I then emailed his cousin Bob McClenon (Paul McClenon's son) about the book. Bob mailed us to the book so that we could get it digitally scanned & return it to him. I have not yet gone through the whole book, but I am trying to go through it systematically, so that I can keep organized. The information in it only goes up through the time it was written & has some holes of missing information, but by & large it has been very helpful in corroborating the historical records I'm able to find online, as well as the LDS Church records on familysearch.org. I'm certain that Walter was able to verify much of what is in the book through historical records, seeing as how he worked at the Library of Congress, but none of his references are given, just the names & dates, not places, though.

In conjunction with this book, also mentioned was that Bob's brother Chuck had been working on getting additional information about the family and had about 100 pages of family information that he has researched & compiled. Just today I received in the mail a flash drive with information from him on it. I haven't had a chance to look through all of it yet, but there are pictures, family trees & listings from family Bibles! So much to do to look through it all. I will post some of it here, as I discover various things of interest.

In addition to the information they have sent me, I have discovered much on my own that I realized I also should be sharing. The major push for this came when I realized that I had seen documents maybe up to a year ago that some of the other relatives just barely discovered. I felt bad that the excitement over this one document could have been experienced much earlier had I just shared some of my discoveries with family members.

So to start, here is a picture from the flash drive that Chuck sent to me. It had a date on the side of it of Dec 1958, so Paul wasn't born yet. I didn't mean to crop it off, but it was next to another picture that I couldn't identify who they were. Maybe next time.
